Press statement of Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament, President Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) Dated 20th December 2022

Fatehgarh Sahib, 20th December ( ) We have learnt that a rocket-propelled grenade attack was made on the police station at Sarhali. Before that a similar attack took place at Mohali Intelligence Headquarters of the Punjab Police.

It was also said that these attacks had taken place at the behest of the ISI of Islamic Pakistan.

If Islamic Pakistan’s ISI orders such attacks they would invariably be made on military or strategic targets or on places of religious worship to stir communal trouble.

But since these attacks have taken place on targets which are neither military nor strategic, nor religious places, our party wants to ascertain whether such attacks have been made for other reasons than what we have said.

It is unfortunate that the Superintendent of Police who was caught on the Punjab-Pak border in an official Government vehicle with the jeweller and a cook when militants attacked the Air-Force Base in Pathankot, in that case the NIA has found the Superintendent of Police’s non-involvement. This is strange.

These howlers should be explained by the Union and Punjab Governments.
