Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that it is not the lack of strength in the Institutions that is leading to an exodus of the students.

The Sikhs largely are leaving the Hindu Indian state because of the genocide, memoricide, vandalism and ethnocide perpetrated by the state on the Sikhs in 1984 Operation Bluestar, later the commission of the crime of genocide of the Sikhs by Rajiv Gandhi and turning out Sikhs from holding senior posts in the Army, Navy and Air-Force, Union Cabinet of BJP-RSS Premier Modi, absence of Sikh Judges in the Supreme Court and other High Courts in the country. Not appointing any Sikh Governors of States.

The cases of sacrilege of the Sikh scriptures in 2015 by then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal his Home Minister Sukhbir Singh, Sauda Sadh Ram Rahim and Director General of Police Sumedh Saini. Subsequent Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh just fiddling his thumbs and doing nothing to arrest these offenders. Later Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi following the same path of his predecessor and now Bhagwant Singh Mann following the Hindutva policy of persecuting the Sikhs.

The other main grouse of the Sikhs is that the BJP-RSS Union Government of Premier Modi is not holding elections to the Sikh statutory body, the SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) which is the Sikh Parliament. This Sikh Institution has become a Lame Duck Parliament as elections to this House have not been held for the last twelve years. The persons holding this Institution illegally have become Mahant’s and Masand’s who are looting its treasury and not fulfilling the purpose for which it came into being in 1925 as the Sikh Parliament. These are some of reasons leading to the flight of Sikhs to distant democratic countries.
