Sikhs are against the death penalty. Simranjit Singh Mann.

The Tribune dated 04th November 2022.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that it has always opposed death penalty. We oppose this death sentence awarded by the Supreme Court. Death sentences in the Hindu Indian state are invariably handed down to Sikhs and Muslims. Whereas, the majoritarian’s who receive life term sentences are released prematurely by the Hindu Indian state, especially in the case of Bibi Bano’s rapists and her relatives murderers as on 15th August this year which the Hindu Indian state observers as Independence Day. These rapists and murderers were involved in the horrific massacre of Muslims in 2002 in Gujarat when Mr. Narinder Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Similarly the Abbot of the Sacha Sauda sect Ram Rahim who has been sentenced to life and imprisonment for rape and murder and is also accused for acts of sacrilege of the Sikh holy scriptures is also being regularly released on parole by the Hindu Indian state. Therefore, justice in this state is not fair and equal; largely the majoritarian Hindu is above the law.

The Hindu Indian state is yet to become a secular state as it is defined in its Constitution of 1950.
