Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that people who rise to high rank are always made butts of jokes, mimicry and gibberish, prattle and doggerels.
I recall that when I was in school I learnt this lesson and I repeat the doggerel which we repeated when anything impolite was said. It went like this:
Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But words won’t hurt me.
Perhaps Hindu India’s External Affairs Ministry and Premier Narendra Modi will not be so touchy about what was said by the Ministers of Maldives. Any way the Prime Minister of Maldives is away to Communist China and news printed in Hindutva newspapers does not travel to the Communists.
