Congressional Committee of US should re-think about including THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) with in NATO. Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

The Tribune dated 28th May 2023.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party marvels at the magnanimity of the Congressional Committee of US of a of including THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) as a part of NATO.

But before this committee ventures into further discussion it must consult its US Commission on International Religious Freedom and other humanitarian watchers like Amnesty International, World Watch and others as the Hindu Indian state has committed the genocide, memoricide, vandalism and ethnocide of the Sikh peoples in 1984, demolished the Islamic Babri Masjid in 1992, on former President Clinton visit to Hindu India in 2000 the then Vajpayee, Advani Union Government ordered the massacre of 43 innocent Sikhs by the army in village Chitthisinghpura of Kashmir. His Secretary of State Madelyn Albright mentions this horrible crime in her memoirs.

In Gujarat in 2002 Mr. Nerendra Modi who was then the Chief Minister of that state had over 2000 Muslims massacred in cold blood. The BBC has made a documentary on this carnage. In 2013 the same Mr. Modi as Chief Minister of Gujarat had the legally acquired farmlands or 60,000 Sikhs confiscated rendering them landless and homeless. Such un-constitutional Human Rights abuses continue to this day.

When on 05th August 2019 Kashmir’s autonomy was abrogated, its legislature dissolved and the barbaric law AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) imposed whereby the Security Forces can kill, maim, kidnap, abduct, murder, rape, molest, torture, detain any person for an endless time, with impunity.

This law contravenes Article 21 of the Constitution which states that no person can be deprived of his life and liberty without following the procedure laid down by law. Yet the Supreme Court which is the guardian of the Constitution is not willing to strike this inhuman law and declare it ultra vires the Constitution.

Therefore, the Congressional Committee should re-think its proposition as THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) is a communally fractured country and at this period time cannot give a fight as the US and NATO would desire.
