Kashmir needs a deep surgery and complete return to democracy as it prevailed prior to 2019. Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

The Tribune dated 27th April 2023.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann- Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that a diplomatic push is possible with a strong economy, leading to a strong military and eventually making diplomacy strong. But all the three components that make a country strong are missing with the Hindu Indian state.

The reconciliation of Turkey and Saudi Arabia has made the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) stronger.

Communist China’s success in getting the schisms of Islam, Shia and Sunni together are also factors that for THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) which will have to make amends with the minorities and make the instruments of democracy work, parliament essentially and the Supreme Court and National Human Rights Commission to awaken themselves and step out of their respective Rip Van Winkle slumber.

We are also amazed at the working of the armed forces which are incapable of intercepting a disaster in the making. This is sending a lone vehicle with Sikh soldiers without an escort or in a convoy, which is always a strategy in such areas.

We think the President who is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces should take very strict action for this lapse and dress down the Northern Army Command Chief.

The President must also ensure that the soldiers who laid down their precious lives because of the carelessness of the army commanders receive a compensation of Rs. 15 crore each, with a petrol pump or a gas agency and their children be educated at Sainak Schools at Nabha and Kapurthala, free of all cost and later they must be sent to the NDA to become officers.
