Governor of Punjab, Administrator of Chandigarh, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Punjab must ensure that the Punjab Reorganisation Act of 1966 is enforced physically. Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

The Tribune dated 21st February 2023.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that this is a good project of the Punjab Government but it must also ensure that Punjabi is affixed to all roads and buildings, whether state or Union in Chandigarh as Punjab has a 60% right as per the Punjab Reorganisation Act of 1966.

We hope the Governor of Punjab and the Administrator of Chandigarh will ensure this order and the Chief Secretary of the Punjab will certify that the 1966 Act is being enforced in Chandigarh U.T.

Our party has also come across the fact that in the Police in U.T. Chandigarh the ratio of 60% of officers and Constabulary of the Punjab is not being adhered to.

These omissions by the Chandigarh U.T. Administration are hurting the Punjabi and Sikh psyche.
