Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that this is a very important plea before the Supreme Court as it effects a free and fair election, which popularly is felt that it is going to be rigged as the opposition to the Hindutva BJP-RSS will not have a fair ground to contest these elections, as the agenda is communal, largely because of the Ram Mandir propaganda by the BJP-RSS and unfair chance to the minority as in Kashmir for the Muslims, the Punjab, the Sikhs, as the Election Commission refuses to give our party Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) an independent symbol.

We hope the Supreme Court will decide this case within a week so that the electorate gains confidence in a fair poll.

Our party is also of the opinion that Observers from the UN, Amnesty International, Western Democracies, UN Human Rights Commission and US Commission on International Religious Freedom should also send their participants to watch a screen this election.
