Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party is happy that the UN Human Rights Commission is taking an interest in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections scheduled to be held before May 2024.
We urge this UN body to send its observers and also the observers of expelled Amnesty International to this country, as we believe that the Union Election Commission will not be fair and the misuse of EVM machines will scuttle the favourable votes for the opposition parties in favour of the ruling BJP-RSS lot.
As an example the Election Commission has refused to grant our party the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) a election symbol, which we think our’s being a minority Sikh party, the Election Commission has used its bias and prejudice against our party.
We are sending this grouse of our’s to indicate that the Election Commission is not fair and above board and the UN Human Rights Commission and Amnesty International must be seized with this mal and communal practice.
