What awaits the Sikhs as they are hunted down in the Hindu Indian state and abroad and have no hope of justice and survival? Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

The Tribune dated 21st November 2023.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that it is strange that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case against the SFJ, and organization stationed in the USA. It is in the USA that Mr. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu has made a threat to Air India. But at home next to Delhi in Alwar, BJP-RSS leader Sandeep Daima in the presence of the UP Chief Minister Mr. Adityanath Yogi on 02nd November gave a public speech that the BJP-RSS will destroy all Islamic Mosques and Sikh Gurdwara’s (places of worship of Sikhs).

We are surprised that the NIA has taken a note of what Mr. Pannu said in the USA, but here at Alwar which is only 181.4 kms from the NIA Headquarters in Delhi, the Union BJP-RSS Government and the NIA have not taken cognizance of this sectarian policy of the BJP-RSS and has not registered a criminal case against Mr. Sandeep Daima and Mr. Adityanath Yogi, the Chief Minister of UP.

Earlier in 2020, when Afghanistan was under the occupation of the USA and the Hindu Indian state had a good relationship with the Americans and the puppet Afghan regime, 25 Sikhs were massacred at Gurdwara Har Rai Sahib in Kabul by the ISIS. The Hindutva Government of India that year had stated that the NIA would investigate this case and bring the perpetrators of this foul misdeed to justice. But we Sikhs have only heard the Union Governments words but not its action. A disbelief in the Hindutva Union Government is growing amongst the Sikhs by the day.

In 2000 US President Bill Clinton along with his Secretary of State Medellin Albright visited the Hindu Indian state. 43 innocent Sikhs living in Village Chitthisinghpura of Kashmir were massacred by the Army in cold blood and our party has gone from pillar to post, seeking justice, but to no avail, though Secretary of State Albright has mentioned this massacre in her Memoirs.

Our party is of the opinion that the Union Home Minister will have to give a statement regarding the safety and prosperity or a minority Sikh nation, whether they are safe or like the Nazi’s in World War II who followed a racial policy, whose origins go back to the Nuremburg laws of 1935, whereby Six Million Jews were sent to a torturous death in the gas chambers, whether the Union BJP-RSS Government wants to follow that very policy against the Sikhs and the minorities?

The Sikhs feel aggrieved that there is no Sikh judge in the Supreme Court of India, no full fledged Cabinet Minister in the Modi Union Government, no Sikh Chief Justice of any High Court in India, no Sikh General in Army, Navy and Air Force, no Sikh in the Election Commission of India, no Sikh Administrator in Jammu & Kashmir and no Sikh Secretary to Government of India. It is regrettable that the Supreme Court has recommended two Sikhs S. Harmeet Singh Grewal, S. Deepinder Singh Nalwa as judges of the High Court and the Union BJP-RSS Government has rejected the recommendation of elevating two Sikh judges to the High Court.

Our party feels that systematically the BJP-RSS Union Government has weeded out all Sikhs from important Administrative and Cabinet posts.

This policy of the Hindu Indian state needs to be explained to the Sikhs so that they can make their political plans to meet this massive injustice and discrimination.

We are further stressed that the Union Government sent out its External Affairs Minister to Britain who camped there for five days which is un-presidented and the only thing he did was to tattle to the British Prime Minister Mr. Sunak, Foreign Secretary David Cameron, Home Secretary James Cleverly and Labour Shadow Foreign Secretary MP David Lammy.

All Mr. Jaishankar did was to tell the British authorities that the Sikhs right to free speech and expression must be curtailed.

During the British regime in India, those Indians who collaborated with the British-Indian government were called toadies. Now it is strange that the Hindu Indian state has groomed a new set of Hindutva leaders and Union Ministers who keep up the tradition of the toadies and still report to the British authorities against fellow Sikhs, living in the Hindu Indian state.

We think this is a grievous practise that the Hindutva leaders have begun and now it is clear they are set upon persecuting the Sikhs as in 1984 the Hindu Indian state invited the Soviet and British forces, along with its own to attack the stateless Sikhs who were defending the honour of the holiest Sikh place of worship the Darbar Sahib and with tanks, artillery, special forces, helicopter-gunship’s, attacked and killed thousands of Sikh worshippers, amongst whom were the elderly, women and children.

Today what is happening in Gaza is simply dwarfed by what the Hindu Indian state did to the Sikhs in 1984, committing crimes of genocide, memoricide, vandalism and ethnocide of the Sikh peoples.

We think if the Sikhs collectively do not take measures for their safety and self-defence, the same old history of 1984 is awaiting repetition.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) is very concerned about the present state of affairs regarding the Sikhs as they are being persecuted religiously and elections to their Parliament SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) have not been held for the last thirteen years. Sikh political prionsers have been languishing in Hindu Indian prisons all over the country for the last 32 years, though life sentence in prison as per the statute is only 14 years imprisonment.

We hope the Western world is watching as Canada, its Prime Minister Mr. Justine Trudeau has said in his Parliament in Ottawa that the Hindu Indian states Intelligence Agencies are responsible for assassinating a Sikh Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

On the other hand these very agencies have assassinated Avtar Singh Khanda in the UK, Parmjit Singh Panjwar in Islamic Pakistan, Deep Singh Sidhu in Haryana, Subhdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala in the Punjab and besides two more Sikhs in Canada- Ripudaman Singh Malik in Surrey and Sukhdool Singh in Winnipeg. These are an alarming state of affairs for which every Sikh must be concerned and be on his guard and his toes.
