Military fails in its internal and external duties. Half past Sikhs! Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

The Tribune dated 13th April 2023.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that it is shameful that the Hindu Indian states military cannot safeguard its own cantonments.

In 2019 the Air Force shot down its own Mi-17 helicopter, killing its six Air Force personnel and a civilian at Srinagar and Kashmir.

It is also known that the IAF shot off a Brahmos combat missile into Islamic Pakistan without orders of shooting missiles into our neighbouring country.

This reminds us of the pranks of the North Korean Political leader Mr. Kim Jong-un who usually fires long range missiles into the Pacific Ocean which whistle pass Japan causing International alarm.

Now we have also heard of the Myanmar Junta Generals dropping bombs on their civilians killing over one hundred of their own countrymen.

Similarly under the orders of Indira Gandhi the IAF dropped incendiary bombs on our own Mizo’s in 1966.

The armed forces don’t come out of their barracks when the Hindutva mobs massacre the Sikhs and Muslims.

If the primary duty of the armed forces is to protect the country’s borders, then they have failed to protect the borders and surrendered 39,000 sq kms of Ladakh territory to Communist China in 1962 and again gave up 2000 sq kms of Ladakh and NEFA territory in 2020 and 2022 to Communist China.

We think that the role of the armed forces has been reduced to being silent spectators to the maintenance of morale and discipline, as in North Kashmir, a big chunk has been surrendered to Communist China.

We wish to remind the Hindu Indian state that Kashmir was a province of Afghanistan which was annexed by the Lahore Darbar in 1819 and Ladakh too was annexed by the Lahore Darbar (Sikh Empire 1799-1849) in 1834, but since the coming of the Hindu Indian state in 1947, it has lost all these territories to Islamic Pakistan and Communist China.

In the armed forces there are no Sikh Army, Navy, Air Force Commanders.

The Union Government must give rupees 10 Cr. to the family members of those army-men killed in Bathinda. Their children must be educated at Sainik Schools at Union Government cost at Nabha and Kapurthala. Our party pays its condolences which may be conveyed to the family members of the killed brave army personnel.
