Shriomani Akali Dal Amritsar States that Prime Minister Nerandra Modi is visiting the Punjab after a long spell. Our Party wishes to bring to his notice the pending issues of the Sikh peoples 1).Elections to the SGPC have not been held for the last eleven years and the Sikh Parliament has become a lame duck Parliament, which is un- democratic. 2) Sikh Prisoners have been languishing in various jails for the last 30 years. Our Party appeals that they may all be released forthwith. 3) For trade and religious worship and tourism Wagha Border with Islamic Pakistan be opened so that the Northern region Rajisthan, Haryana, Jammu Kashmir, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh begin to flourish financially. 4)MSP may also be fixed for all crops. In 2018, 38 Sikh were massacred with impunity in Iraq. In 2020, 23 Sikhs were massacred in Kabul.Another attack was made on the Sikh’s in Kabul. A lady teacher was killed in Srinagar. A Sikh Hakim was killed Peshawar. All these killings were perpetrated by the ISIS. Now a Sikh Lady was force fully married to a Muslim in-convenience with the local police in the North of Islamic Pakistan. Our Party wants a special unit carved out of the Sikh Regiment and Sikh Lite Infantry to deal with such instances beyond the borders of this country. We hope the Prime Minister will give this proposal a serious thought. Much be be gained if these proposals are put into practice and the life of the minority Sikhs made easier and less worrysome. We will be grateful.
