Sir,
Fateh,
Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) had cautioned you on several accounts not to run the advertisements of God-man Ramdev’s medicines on the front page of your newspaper.
We think you suffer from a bias of the Sikhs and run rough shod over our opinion which is always sound and logical. Now the Supreme Court has supported our view and negated your publications.
We knew that the God-man was cheating the people and the BJP-RSS rightwing Hindutva ideology had put him on a high pedestal.
We would also request that while you mention a Sikh, his name is not followed by the suffix Singh which is an abuse of the Sikh religious tradition.
We are not hillbillies but a cultured society and your newspaper needs to treat the Sikhs with respect and dignity.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
Simranjit Singh Mann,
Member of Parliament,
President,
Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar).
