Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that it is against capital punishment. We are pleased that the Qatar Government has released all the prisoners on death row.
If an Islamic state shows mercy and forgiveness then THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) should also follow suit and release all Sikh prisoners held in various jails across the country. These Sikh prisoners are in jail for the last 32 years whereas the statutory imprisonment by law is only for twenty years.
One of the Sikh prisoners S. Balwant Singh Rajoana is on death row. We ask the Union Government to show a sentiment of forgiveness and release all these Sikh prisoners.
We hope the Hindu state will show forgiveness as the Islamic state has shown such forgiveness.
