Sikh officers must rise and fight for their rights. Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

The Tribune dated 21st June 2023.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that during the BJP-RSS regime of Hindu India, we see that Sikh officers in the intelligence bureau, R&AW, military intelligence and Central Armed Police Forces, the military-Army-Navy-Air Force-Coast Guard and other security agencies Sikh officers are been regularly being shunted out. As a result we see no Sikh officers in the posts of a Cabinet Minister in the Union Cabinet, no Governor of States, no Lt. Governor of Union Territories, though Kashmir was annexed to the Lahore Darbar (Sikh Empire 1799-1849) in 1819 and Ladakh in 1834.

In the judiciary too there are no Sikh chief justices of High Courts of the states of the Union. The Supreme Court has not had a Sikh judge for many-many years. In the diplomatic service we see no Sikhs as heads of missions abroad and we think it is time for the Sikhs to think about the Sikh participation in the governance of Hindu Indian state.

Most of the Sikhs serving and in retirement who are living as pussy cats or Judenrats of the state should awaken themselves to the dark future and now begin to exercise their rights as Sikhs in THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State).

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has always endeavoured to pump extra blood into these slothful, moribund and frightened Sikhs but it appears that like the Jews in Nazi Germany they have lost the nerve and spunk to stand up and fight for their rights.

They must remember that the Sikhs joined the Hindu Indian state in 1947 when Hindu leaders like Nehru and Gandhi made promises to the Sikhs that after 1947 the Sikhs would receive an area where they could feel the glow of freedom. When the Hindu leadership backtracked on these promises the two Sikh representatives in the Constituent Committee S. Hukam Singh and S. Bhupinder Singh Mann did not put their respective signatures to the constitution of 1950.

Therefore, there is no reason legally or morally for Sikh officers to act as pussy cats and Judenrats of the Hindu Indian state, for they must speak out and enforce their rights without fear.
