Soldering is a profession of the Punjabi’s just like the Prussians. Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

Punjabi Muslims makes very good soldier. In First and Second World Wars the Punjab Muslman and the Sikh have fought shoulder to shoulder and shown extreme bravery and valour. Both have received the highest gallantry awards – Victoria cross

Since 1947 the Sikhs and the Punjabi Muslman have been separated and we are sure that as the author writes, they are getting good training at Abbottabad.

However the difference between a Sikh soldier and Muslman is distinct the Sikh is a born soldier and is fearless and accepts death as a natural happening in his life. The Sikh soldier fights to the last as was proved by the stand they took in the battle of Saragarhi. These Sikhs were trained soldiers of the British Indian Army.

However, in 1984 when the Hindu Indian state invited the armies of Britain and the Soviet Union with their own army, the three armies attacked the stateless Sikh’s defending the holiest Sikh Shrine the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) at Amritsar.

The untrained but the martial Sikh leader Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala along with his band of followers and General Shubegh Singh the victor of the Bangladesh war, along with Bhai Amrik Singh and Baba Thara Singh, took a stand against these three nuclear armed armies and never let them enter the holy precincts of the Darbar Sahib for 72 hours.

This may be reffer to as the most daring defensive battle in history the leaders and the defenders fought to the last and did not let the enemy enter the sanctum storium for 72 hours. Sant Jarnail Singh came out of his defensive bunker and took his last stand resting on the two Nishan Sahib(Sikh Standards between the Darbar Sahib and the Akal Takhat. There were 72 bullet holes, in his chest fired by brutal three armies which by standards of the Geneva Conventions of War should be tried for the commission of war crimes.

In the 1971 Bangladesh war about 92 thousand Pakstani soldiers with their General Nazi surrender to Lt. Gen. Jagjit Singh Arora.

We feel if these solders who surrender for the Hindu Indian state had been Sikh Soldiers they would have fought to the last or miscopied to Burma and finally in their Homeland Islamic Pakistan. But this book written by Maria Rashid must be read and kept in the library of Sikh.

There is this difference in Punjab soldiery between the Muslim and Sikh solders. We do not mean any disrespect to the Muslman Soldiers.
