The armed forces should perfect themselves in defending the borders; internal security should be left to the police, Para military forces and the vigilance of the populace. Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

The Tribune dated 22nd March 2023.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that the armed forces should strictly look after the borders of the country, which at the moment they are found to be pregnable. They should retrieve the territories surrendered to Communist China in 1962, 2020 and 2022, besides reclaim the territory in Northern Kashmir which Communist China has annexed.

If they cannot look after the security of the border then they should be in training in modern warfare and leave the internal security to the Para military forces, the police and the vigilance of the local population.

They should also modernise their weaponry as 45% of it is obsolete as per Gen. Manoj Pande’s statement earlier.

The four year tenure of a soldier in the armed forces is a thought of un-professionals who have no knowledge of warfare as a four year soldier cannot learn all the trades of war and only after a period of seventeen years in service, he gains full professional knowledge.

The Hindutva doctrine in soldiering has no professional background as the present Hindutva state has knowledge of martial arts gleaned from the mythical kingdom of Ayodhya and the epic story of the Mahabharat. The armed forces have much to learn about warfare from Sikh history and the present defence of The Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) in 1984 against the attack of three nuclear armed states Soviet Union, Britain and THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State). This defence of The Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) is the greatest battle of defence known to modern warfare.
