Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that there is no reason to play politics in the Olympic Games but the Hindu Indian state must have the aggression in Ladakh vacated by Communist China and have the civilian tents pitched by Communist China in Galwan removed. This is what countries with pride do and not be spoil sports in games.
We had recommended that Sikh regiments should wear their small Kirpans with their uniforms as in the skirmish with Communist China’s PLA hand to hand fighting which was done without weapons, an un – military order by the commander to the Sikh troops. Had the Sikh’s worn their Kirpans the results of this skirmish would have been different.
Sikh’s have a definite interest in Ladakh as it was annexed by the Lahore Darbar( Sikh Empire 1799-1849) in 1834. Communist China’s PLA has trespassed into this very territory and built a bridge over the Pangong Lake which is in the original annexed territory of the Lahore Darbar.
