Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party is grateful to America for giving recognition to the Sikhs. Besides this several states of America have passed resolutions in their respective legislatures that the Sikhs in THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) have been the victims of the crime of genocide.

We do hope the State Department while it helps the Hindu Indian state in its military crafts, it will also from time to time keep a strict watch on the breach of Human Rights of the minorities, Schedule Castes and Tribal’s which are taking place regularly. The National Human Rights Commission in Delhi has become a Rip Van Winkle, as such the US Commission on International Religious Freedom will have to keep an extra vigil.

I am a Member of Parliament but I am not allowed to visit Jammu & Kashmir, a troubled minority Muslim state where the Hindu Indian Security Forces are committing heinous crimes against the people under the barbaric law AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) which shields them from prosecution, when committing crimes likes killing, maiming, kidnapping, abducting, murdering, raping, molesting, torturing, detaining any person for an endless time, with impunity.

This law contravenes Article 21 of the Constitution which states that no person can be deprived of his life and liberty without following the procedure laid down by law. Yet the Supreme Court which is the guardian of the Constitution is not willing to strike this inhuman law and declare it ultra vires the Constitution.
