The Tribune dated 10th January 2025

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party is of the opinion that the Punjab and the Hindu Indian state are reaching a boiling point as the Union Government of the BJP-RSS headed by Premier Narendra Modi is not listening to the grievance of the farmers and labourers who are in high debt and suffer from a lack of a fair price in their ripened crops.
With the sacrifice of farmer S. Resham Singh we are of the opinion that this state is going to enter into a vicious circle of farmer and labourer suicides.
The Union Government of the BJP-RSS run by Premier Modi is a traders and shopkeepers government which is ignoring the rural sector of which it is ignorant or because the farmers are mostly Sikhs and the Hindutva Union Government holds a great bias against the Sikhs, it thinks that instead of using the stick and bullet it can bring the Sikh farmers to heel by denying them justice, but characteristically the Sikhs will never cave in and give the Hindutva Union Government the very best they receive.
In the name of peace we ask Premier Modi to settle the farm issues as the armed forces are packed from these rural backgrounds and if the farmers are going to suffer the fighting edge of the armed forces will also be blunted.
We hope the three Chief’s of the armed forces will also awaken themselves to this reality.
