To: The Editor,
The Tribune Group,
Chandigarh.
Dated 28th February 2024
Sir
Fateh
Please refer to your news item-“SC slaps contempt notices on Patanjali for misleading ads”. In this context our party states that we had always felt that The Tribune is a newspaper with a high standard in ethics, truthfulness and fair reporting.
From time to time we have been writing to you about the Patanjali products produced by an upstart God man. But as is your practice you kept ignoring our advice and brought in new parvenu practices such as the God mans and now the Modi advertisements on the front page.
In a high standard newspaper profit making is a good practices but when standards are compromised for money and pleasing powerful politicians, then the standards take a hit.
We would advice that your newspaper should keep up the standards which began with the print at Lahore, with the benevolence of your founder S. Dyal Singh Majthia.
Thanking you,
Yours Faithfully,
Simranjit Singh Mann,
Member of Parliament,
President,
Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar).
