Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar states that this invitation to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi pertains to a Hindu temple built atop the Islamic Babri Masjid, which was demolished by the BJP-RSS led by L.K. Advani, Joshi and others in 1992.

We do not think that Mrs. Gandhi who professes secularism should be attending such a function where the entire Islamic world, would be in tears.
