Sikhs in the Modi regime are suspects. Not allowed their R-Day tableau. Simranjit Singh Mann, Member of Parliament.

The Tribune dated 28th December 2023.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that the Hindu Indian Union BJP-RSS Government’s National Security Advisor and the Intelligence Agencies having assassinated Sikhs abroad and here, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Ripudaman Singh Malik and Sukhdool Singh in Canada, Avtar Singh Khanda in UK, in Islamic Pakistan Parmjit Singh Panjwar and Lakhbir Singh Rode, in Haryana Deep Singh Sidhu, Subhdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala in the Punjab.

The Centre under Premier Modi now suspects that the Sikhs may hit back and a Punjab tableau on the 26th January 2024 Republic Day Parade, which would have had to pass before the pavilion, where the invited VVIP guest would be seated, the VVIP’s life may be put in danger, like Anwar Sadat’s the 3rd President of Egypt, who was assassinated on 06th October 1981 during the annual victory parade held in Cairo.

It is now final that the Hindu Indian state has lost trust in the Sikhs and the Punjabis. This suspicion has arisen because the Hindu Indian state has been assassinating Sikhs abroad and within this country.

This mistrust has consequences as Sikhs are not been recruited into the Police in the Union Territories of Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi and Chandigarh.

A two nation divide has appeared because of the excesses perpetrated by the Hindu majoritarian ruling class. As a result there is no Sikh Cabinet Minister in the Narendera Modi Union Cabinet, no Sikh Judge in the Supreme Court, no Sikh Chief Justice of any High Court, no Sikh in the Election Commission, no Sikh as Secretary to Government of India, no Sikh General in the Army, Navy and the Air Force and Para Military Forces. Especially in National Security Group (NSG) and Special Frontier Force (SFF) etc.

We think Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann the Chief Minister of Punjab will have to take up this matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the winter session of Parliament from 04th December to 23rd December 2023, I as a Sikh Member of Parliament was not allowed to speak. There is a bar in the Parliament too, as being a Sikh I am suspected to speak on Human Rights which are being violated of the Muslims, Schedule Castes, Tribal’s and the Sikhs.

It could never have been expected that the Sikhs would become suspects to the Hindu Indian states security. But this is the truth. The winter session of Parliament will show a clear data, class and religion wise, how many minority Members and majoritarian Members spoke in this session of Parliament.

During this Parliament Session I saw that at many moments the Ministers and Members of Parliament belonging to the ruling party made it a point of stating that now under the Narendra Modi regime the Hindu Indian state had freed itself from the British style of governance and that periods laws were being repealed in several cases. Now the rightwing Hindutva Members of Parliament felt that they were now truly Indians having shed off British legacy.

However, I felt that when the British ruled the Indian state, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and other denominations were the subjugated peoples. In this subjugation they were all equal.

But in 1947 when the British dissolved their colonial rule in India and passed it over to the Hindus giving them the state of India and Muslims were given the state of Pakistan, after that the Sikhs who remained in Pakistan, they became second class citizens and those Sikhs who chose India as their country, they became second class citizens.

The sub-continent was divided into India for the Hindus and Pakistan for the Muslims. After the end of the British rule the Sikhs suffered the most as they lost their equality with the Hindus and Muslims.

Sikh leadership made the mistake by having been taken in by the beguiling words of Jawhar Lal Nehru in 1946, the then would-be first prime minister of ROI, J.L Nehru, stated ”the brave Sikhs of the Punjab are entitled to special consideration. I see nothing wrong in an area and a set-up in the North where in the Sikhs may also experience the glow of freedom”.

Today the Sikhs are disenchanted with what their leaders accepted from Nehru. Instead of the feel of glow of freedom the Sikhs have borne the crimes of genocide, memoricide, vandalism and ethnocide.

The Modi Government policy towards the Sikhs has been enunciated by his National Security Advisor Mr. Ajit Doval and the Directors of R&AW, I.B and Military Intelligence to assassinate Sikhs abroad and within this country. The commission of crimes of assassinations we have mentioned above.

The Sikh historian Cunningham states that the Sikhs dare and endure but never accept defeat. Well, that’s what we will do and never give in.
