The Tribune dated 17th October 2023

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that in one respect the author Gen. Pradeep Bali is right when he states that the Hindutva Intelligence Services, “Government Agencies and organizations which are responsible for keeping a watch and providing constant intelligence inputs about activities inimical to our National Security, need to be on the ball”.

He further says that in the 1962 war and it 1999 Kargil conflict these agencies were found to be totally negligent, despite the fact that they have vast resources.

Actually the fact is that Gen. Bali is concerned with the security of the Hindutva state but in fact these security agencies R&AW, Intelligence Bureau, Military Intelligence, headed by the National Security Advisor Mr. Ajit Doval and the Cabinet Secretariat along with the NIA (National Investigation Agency) are busy suspecting the Sikhs and hunting them down in foreign countries.

For example they have assassinated Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Ripudaman Singh Malik, Sukhdool Singh in Canada.

In Britain they have killed a Sikh activist Avtar Singh Khanda and in Islamic Pakistan assassinated Parmjit Singh Panjwar and internally they have assassinated Deep Singh Sidhu in Haryana and Subhdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala in the Punjab.

Therefore, their eye is not on the danger which Gen. Bali thinks would appear from abroad.

Gen. Bali is also right that these covert agencies have vast economic resources and secret service funds which are not audited by CAG.

What is worse is that they are not responsible or accountable to Parliament? Therefore, they have become a state within a state and it is a lassie fare conglomerate.

These secret service funds need to go into audit by CAG.

The other point that Gen. Bali is shy to state the embarrassment that the armed forces are not prepared to meet the Communist China peril which has occupied 39000 sq kms of territory in Ladakh in 1962 and another patch on 10000 sq kms in 2020 and 2022.

In 1962 another patch of Kashmir territory Shaksgam Valley was surrendered to Communist China.

Since in history the Hindu has never had a sovereign state of its own, save the mythical state of Ayodhya, the present Hindu state does not have a sprit of revanchism and irredentism.

The Gen. must know that the military arsenal is obsolete and the Air Force has no stealth jet fighters compared to Communist China’s Su-35’s, Su-57’s and J-20’s, which are shared with Islamic Pakistan, which also has upgraded F-16 jet fighters.

The local manufacture jet fighter is not a stealth jet fighter and has an American engine and Israeli avionics. Cannibalised flying machines are no feathers in the Hindutva’s hat.

The Gen. if he wants a safe India, he must take a hard look at how the BJP-RSS Union Government treats its Minorities, Schedule Castes and Tribals.

Jammu & Kashmir does not have a legislature since 05th August 2019. The barbaric law AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) in use by the security forces to kill, maim, kidnap, abduct, murder, rape, molest, torture, detain any person for an endless time, with impunity is outdated.

This law contravenes Article 21 of the Constitution which states that no person can be deprived of his life and liberty without following the procedure laid down by law. Yet the Supreme Court which is the guardian of the Constitution is not willing to strike this inhuman law and declare it ultra vires the Constitution.

It is said that there is freedom of press in the Hindu Indian state, but The Tribune like the National Security Advisor and his affiliated Intelligence Agencies are concentrating on fighting the Sikhs and defending Union Governments assassinations of Sikhs abroad and here in the Hindu state.

We thought that the Gen. knew everything but his knowledge of security is confined to the tip of an Iceberg.
