Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that this is a good decision by the Union BJP-RSS a rightwing Hindutva Government. Wisdom is dawning on the forces of Hindutva as they have no military history or wisdom.

It is shameful that the top brass of the Army, Navy and Air-Force have coalesced with the forces of Hindutva to recruit soldiers only for four years. In four years a soldier cannot become a full soldier as it takes years in service to learn the ropes. The soldier has to learn all the trades of the armed forces, plus have physical strength and courage to face the soldiers of the opposite forces who are full and complete soldiers.

We are afraid that the four year trained soldier will not be in a position to meet his opponent a Pathan, a Baloch, Punjabi Musalman or Khampa or a Han.

This policy is bound to fail and the BJP-RSS Union Government, the Defence Minister, Defence Secretary and the three Chief’s of Staff and CDS will be held responsible for any debacle that is bound to take place after the four year trained soldier faces his opponent on the battlefield.
