Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that if the Hindu Indian state is weak and not willing to push back Communist China’s PLA to the LAC in Ladakh as it existed in January 2020, then it is obvious that what President Xi Jinping has said that the Hindu Indian state has been reduced to a regional state.

It is now ridden with communal turbulence and is not in tune with secularism guaranteed in the Constitution of 1950. It must forge its unity in order and not muck with the military setup which has been built over the centuries, as it has no experience in military affairs and its management. The Prime Minister should travel-less and consternate on meeting his country truly secular and democratic character.

The Sikh parliament the SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandk Committee) has become a Lame Duck Parliament as elections to this House have not been held for the last eleven years.

The Sikhs value the integrity of Ladakh and it was annexed by the Lahore Darbar (Sikh Empire 1799-1849) in 1834. We do not like its repeated conquest by Communist China, the earlier one being in 1962 when Communist China gobbled 39,000 sq kms of its territory. For us Sikhs this is a shame.
