The Tribune dated 09th January 2025

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that reforms can be carried out in the armed forces if the Hindutva leaders have the right spirit, mind, experience and will to reform.
In the first place the reform Agniveer is unthinkable for any person who looks towards the welfare of the armed forces. These poor untrained Agniveer’s will disappear with the firing of the first shot. The geniuses who have brought about this reform have never gone into battle or smelt gunpowder during a military exercise. They are the reincarnation of General Kaul who swallowed soap water, got chattaks (loose motions) was admitted to hospital, as the Chinese PLA was hurtling down the Himalayas in 1962.
If the political leadership and the leadership of the armed forces has no inbred policy of revanchism when the Hindu Indian state has surrendered 39,000 sq kms in 1962 to Communist China and another 8,000 sq kms in 2020 and 2022 in Ladakh which was annexed by the Lahore Darbar (Sikh Empire 1799-1849) and Communist China still flashes that a part of Ladakh Aksi-Chin is still in its grip, then what reforms will the casteist Brahmincal leadership make?
Besides surrendering territory to Communist China, the Hindu state has no stealth jet fighters, old and rattling tanks, obsolete, artillery pieces after Bofors is fading out, the MK 54 lightweight torpedo and the funniest happening in advancement is that Naval Officers will wear Kurta Pyjama and Chappals in the Mess. We think as far as the Hindutva mind is concerned, this is one of the best reform and we await the introduction of the Khaki Knickers and a baton.
There is an interesting ditty which goes like this:
“Hitler with his brown shirts,
Mussolini with his black shirts,
And the best was Gandhi who had no shirt at all”.
We hope we will soon go into the Gandhian fold with these reforms.
