The Tribune dated 15th January 2024

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that as usual relations between The Tribune and the Sikhs are not improving as the Editor Mr. Ramachandran is a die-hard Sikh baiter. It is a fact that the Foreign policy and Defence policy of the Hindu Indian state has taken a hit due to the assassinations of Sikhs abroad, specifically of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and the attempt on the life of Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in the USA, which was thwarted by the US security services.

Assassinating Sikhs abroad and within the country has become an difficult and counter productive policy of Hindutva.

The US President Mr. Joe Biden was to be the Chief Guest on Republic Day. But he has cancelled the visit due to the assassinations of Sikhs carried out by the Cabinet Secretary, National Security Advisor, Directors of R&AW, Intelligence Bureau and Military Intelligence, all of them, report to Premier Narendra Modi and his Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah.

We think the Prime Minister Mr. Modi and Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah need to clear the reason of their misplaced adventurous policy of assassinating Sikhs.

It is obvious they want to tell the Hindu voters that they can now take on Sikhs within the country and abroad.

By holding a ceremony on 22nd January to inaugurate the Hindu Ram Mandir at Ayodhya over the demolished site of the Islamic Babri Masjid, the message being sent out is that Mr. Modi is the champion of Hinduism and the Hindu must vote for him and his party in the forthcoming elections to Parliament.

Battling with the Kashmiri Muslims by deploying the armed forces is another message to the majoritarain Hindu voter that Mr. Modi is the Chief Executioner of this policy.

It is shameful for The Tribune to pick on the Sikhs and not condemn assassinations of Sikhs by the Hindu Indian state.
