The Tribune dated 18th September 2023

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that at the All Party Meeting of Members of Parliament in Delhi yesterday (17th September) I pointed out that the continues import of out dated weaponry cannot help the Hindu Indian state to match its two adversaries.

Now the import of 12 Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter jets from Russia is against the interests of this country as they are not stealth jet fighters.

Similarly the import of Rafael fighter jets for the Air Force and the Navy is again an out dated technological import of flying machines as these jets from France or also not stealth jet fighters.

The locally manufactured Tejas which have American engines, they too are not stealth jet fighters.

Collecting pieces of junk is an old tradition of the Hindu Indian state which began during the period of Krishan Menon was the Defence Minister. He purchased all the used World War II weapons to arm the Hindu Indian Defence Forces.

It is not our wish that the Hindu Indian state should suffer but it would be in the interests of having the latest weaponry.

If the Americans come down hard on the Hindu state for buying Russian weapons in defiance of their law Countering America’s Adversaries Though Sanctions Act (CAATSA) which prohibits imports from Russia. If the US takes this hard action in future in the interest of the Hindu Indian state having the latest weaponry, this will happen for the good of the Defence Forces.

In the meeting yesterday I had also mentioned that the Army does not have any amphibious tanks or amphibious infantry vehicles. These were necessary for war in the Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir.
