Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party a sorry for the deaths of three officers Col. Manpreet Singh, Major Aashish Dhonchak, DSP Muzamil Humayu Bhatt, all of them hail from our region.
We feel the cause of these dreadful fatalities is the prolongation of the death knell of the democracy as the legislature of Jammu & Kashmir along with Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution were abrogated on 05th August 2019 by the extremist ultra rightwing BJP-RSS Union Government.
The Supreme Court has not annulled the beastly law AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) which gives power to the security forces to kill, maim, kidnap, abduct, murder, rape, molest, torture, detain any person for an endless time, with impunity.
This law contravenes Article 21 of the Constitution which states that no person can be deprived of his life and liberty without following the procedure laid down by law. Yet the Supreme Court which is the guardian of the Constitution is not willing to strike this inhuman law and declare it ultra vires the Constitution.
We are of the opinion that this struggle in the Islamic majority state of Kashmir has been up-staged as the Afghan veterans who fought and expelled two super powers Russia and America from their land Afghanistan, have taken command to bring justice to the people of Kashmir, suffering from violation of human rights and excessive tyranny of the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, backed by the National Security Advisor, Union Home Minister and the Intelligence Agencies R&AW, IB, Military Intelligence and the terror creating NIA.
