After Shia – Suni rapprochement, Super Powers need to redraw their policies regarding the minorities in THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian state). – Simranjit Singh Mann

The Tribune Dated 14th March, 2023.

Comments by Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our Party is of the opinion that the rapprochement brought about between the feuding schisms of Islam by Communist China is a great feat and Communist China has done what was thought the impossible.

With this unity brought about between the two Islamic schisms, it is going to change the geo politics of this region. Israel which was always at unease with Iran will have to change its diplomacy and strategic military thinking. So will the great powers.

As far as THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian state) is concerned the radicalize BJP-RSS Hindutva Union Government of Premier Narendra Modi will also be compelled to change its hard-line, autocratic and inhuman policies regarding the treatments of its minorities. The Indian sub- continent will no longer harbour an extremist theocratic Hindutva state.

Changes will have to be brought about in the policies pertaining to Kashmir, Punjab and the minority states of the East.

In this respect the Western Democracies, chiefly USA and Britain would also have to think about the shabby and cruel treatment by the majoritarian Hindutva state towards its minorities. They may not know how the minorities have felt when these two countries have not raised their respective voices when the minorities have been bludgeoned to silence by the barbaric acts of the Hindu Indian state in governing states through the law AFSPA( Armed Forces Special Power Act.) which gives the security services the legal right to kill, maim, molest, rape, kidnap, detain, abduct and murder any citizen with impunity.

These two powers to gain the good will of the Hindu Indian state have also at times abrogated the visas of minority leaders, which we think is against the spirit of their respective written or unwritten constitutions.

We have known that Premier Narendra Modi was allowed to canvas support for former President Donald Trump and the Republicans helped in gathering support for the Modi rallies in the USA. What did the USA do when former President Trump visited the Hindu Indian state in 2020 and there were BJP-RSS sponsored riots against the minority Muslims in Delhi, the Capital city?

Where have the Helisinki accords gone? Have they lost their importance when the opposite is happening regarding the main subject and the preservation of human rights? What has taken place against the Sikh peoples, Muslims, Christians, Adivasis or Aborigines and the Schedule castes after 1984, subsequently and today, is it on the diplomatic agenda of the USA and Britain?

It is time that the Super Powers sitting on the High Table began the process of re-drawing their policies about the stateless Sikh’s and other minorities of which they have like Rip Van Winkle lost sight and account of.
