Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party appreciates the stand of the Supreme Court but in fact the ball is in the court of Premier Narendra Modi who must solve the farmer\u2019s problems.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

More farmers are going on a fast to death and these conditions will weaken the security of the Hindu state as Jammu & Kashmir is out of control despite it being run under the draconian law AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) under which the security forces have the power to kill, maim, kidnap, abduct, murder, rape, molest, torture, detain any person for an endless time, with impunity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This law contravenes Article 21 of the Constitution which states that no person can be deprived of his life and liberty without following the procedure laid down by law. Yet the Supreme Court which is the guardian of the Constitution is not willing to strike this inhuman law and declare it ultra vires the Constitution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also do not know where the National Human Rights Commission has disappeared and gone into a long hibernation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
