Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that Ms. Sharmistha Mukherjee, the daughter of former President Pranab Mukherjee has a bone to pick with Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and her family since Mr. Mukherjee was involved in siding with late Indira Gandhi in sending the Soviet, British and Hindu Indian armed forces into the Darbar Sahib (Golden temple) which came to be known as Operation Bluestar of 1984.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Sonia Gandhi thought it better to appoint S. Manmohan Singh, a Sikh as Prime Minister so that the Sikh feelings could be smoothened and assuaged. That is the reason why Mr. Mukherjee was overlooked as the forthcoming Prime Minister when the Congress Party came into power at the Union in 2004.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wonder why The Tribune has given Ms. Sharmistha Mukherjee\u2019s opinion such a large space in its newspaper without analysing the reason for her dismay and grouse.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is possible that since The Tribune through its editor Prem Bhatia coaxed Indira Gandhi to carry out this foul and wicked misdeed against the Sikh nation which resulted in the demolition of the holy Akal Takth Sahib, the armed forces robbed the Sikh Reference Library, the Toshakhana (treasury) had assassinated the upcoming Sikh leaders Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala, Major General Subegh Singh, S. Amrik Singh and other leaders besides spelling the blood of thousands of Sikh pilgrims who had congregated that day at the Darbar Sahib to observe the martyrdom of V Guru Arjun Sahib the builder of the Darbar Sahib. That day the armed forces committed the crimes of genocide, memoricide, vandalism, ethnocide and religiocide of the Sikh peoples with impunity, could be a reason enough not to elevate Mr. Pranab Mukherjee to the office of Prime Minister as he had been a collaborator of Indira Gandhi the genocidaire.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
