Both families have held high posts in the Centre and their respective states. Even now there are rumours that the Badal\u2019s and the BJP-RSS would fight the forthcoming election together, at the cost of Sikh Nationalism and the farmers struggle. Their closeness and intimacy with the BJP-RSS has always worried Sikh and Kashmiri nationalists.
