Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that it is unfortunate that the so called indigenous produced Tejas jet has fallen out of the sky.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our party had misgivings about this fighter plane from the very beginning.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a cannibalized fighter jet with an imported jet engine, imported radars and several other parts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hindu Indian state has not been able to manufacture a jet engine or the state of the art radars.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we look down history lane we will know that Britain and Germany had begun producing jet fighters during World War II. The Germans had Heinkel He-280 jet and the British had the Gloster E28\/39 jet fighter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides this the Germans also had stealth fighter planes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Tejas falling from the sky will demoralize the armed forces and the pilots will be hesitant in taking command to fly these poor flying machines.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our party does not mind, the Hindu state manufacturing its own war planes, but till the Air Force does not have the state of the art stealth jet fighter, the Hindu state cannot compete with the neighbouring countries more advanced stealth jet fighters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, we recommend that the Hindu state acquires ten stealth fighter jet squadrons from the best manufactures of these war planes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We further suggest that the Tejas should be kept in the hangers, till it proves its air flying ability.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This crash of Tejas will affect the BJP-RSS elections campaign for Parliament which will begin shortly.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In World War II the Mustang proved to be the best fighter plane that could take on the best of the Luftwaffe bombers and fighter planes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it did not come into service because there was deep corruption in the manufacture of these American fighter planes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major General Bennett E. Meyers was the main person who was entitled to pass this plane for the war. But it turned out that Meyers was a corrupt officer and he had formed a profitable Aviation Electric Company, which sold parts of air crafts to manufacturing companies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since his company was not receiving orders for parts for the Mustangs, he took a while in passing this plane for service during the war.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But eventually events caught up with Meyers and he was convicted on three counts of suborning perjury. The air force stripped him of his medals, rank and retirement pay and prepared to haul him before a court-martial.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly in this country big guns have been hauled up in the purchase of the Augusta Westland Helicopter deal in which the high ups did not take bribes only but they committed perfidy as the helicopter which was to be bought should have attained the height of 18 thousand feet above sea level, where the army troops were posted.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the Augusta Westland Helicopter could not even reach the height of 14 thousand feet above sea level.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many high level officials were entrapped in this unpatriotic deal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even Barjesh Mishra who was a Secretary to Vajpayee, his relative in Italy was also involved in this corrupt deal. But these high ups were never arrested and questioned in this corrupt deal and like the oil for food scandal with Iraq we have no clue about what happened to the criminals involved in these thuggeries.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our party would recommend a high level criminal probed into the work of the Tejas manufacturers misdeeds.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the air is not cleaned immediately, it will have a drastic effect on the air force flyers and the country as people will begin to feel insecure against the well armed adversaries in our region.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
