Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that there is no legislature, no democracy but only state terrorism. AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) gives the security forces the right to kill, maim, kidnap, abduct, murder, rape, molest, torture, detain any person for an endless time, with impunity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This law contravenes Article 21 of the Constitution which states that no person can be deprived of his life and liberty without following the procedure laid down by law. Yet the Supreme Court which is the guardian of the Constitution is not willing to strike this inhuman law and declare it ultra vires the Constitution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Human Rights Commission in Delhi has also become a Rip Van Winkle, as regards the minorities, Schedule Castes and Tribals are concerned.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abrogation of 370, 35A in Kashmir is unfortunate as autonomy of J&K has been swept aside with no alternative but dictatorial rule by Union BJP-RSS Government, under which killing innocent labours is sad, but security forces under the barbaric AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) are resorting to extra judicial murders.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Supreme Court which is the custodian of the constitution, looks on helplessly.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lt. Governor Mr. Manoj Sihna is often seen in saffron coloured clothes. That is not helping a peace and a Constitution form of Government where rule of law and Principles of Natural Justice that is required is the arbitrator of Justice.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope that the US Secretary of State and Secretary of Defence of the USA will take a look into such a situation where the minorities, Sikhs and Muslims have lost their religious freedom. Under such conditions when the Hindu Indian state has lost the trust of its minorities it cannot combat any adversary.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elections to the SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) the Sikh Parliament have not been held for the last thirteen years. In Kashmir, its Capital Srinagar, the state government under Lt. Governor Sinha regularly shuts down the Islamic Mosque Jamia Masjid, when Muslims call a special prayer every Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope with the arrival of these two dignitaries from the United States, they will infuse a greater confidence in the minorities and the Hindu Indian state will stop assassinating Sikhs in Canada, UK, Islamic Pakistan, within the Hindu Indian state in Haryana and the Punjab.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
