Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that is against the death penalty as it is usually and commonly used against the minorities, the Sikhs and the Muslims.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Europe death penalty has been banned.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Bhai Dawinderpal Singh Bhullar case of death sentence by a three member bench of the Supreme Court which had two Hindu Judges and the presiding judge was a Muslim, the Muslim judge totally exonerated Bhullar of all charges and the two Hindu Judges passed a death sentence on Bhullar.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, minorities are not safe in the hands when Hindu Judges decide their cases while awarding death sentences. Therefore, we don\u2019t think that Malik, a Muslim will receive justice from a packed kangroo Delhi High Court. Our party would suggests that neither the NIA which has rightwing Hindu officers or the judges of the Delhi High Court should take up a case of death sentence to a member of a minority who God knows whether he is innocent or guilty.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the recent inauguration of the new parliament in Delhi on 28th May 2023 I as a Member of Parliament in attendance saw the Hindutva agenda in the ascendance and I wondered whether this occasion was a prelude to the creation of a Hindu Rashtra giving up the secular constitution of 1950.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
