Comments by Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that this refers to the Tribune\u2019s editor Mr. Rajesh Ramachandarn article- \u201c India is not Ukraine\u201d dated 11th March 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ramachandran is repeating the stand of the radicalised BJP-RSS Union Government about its old fixation in supporting Russia, whether right or wrong.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Party has condemned the Russian aggression against Ukraine as it has annexed Crimea in 2014 and later annexed Luhansk, Donetsk Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has held referendums in these occupied Ukraine territories. But the Hindu Indian state is against plebiscite in Kashmir which was ordered by the UN Security Council though it was Jawaharlal Nehru who asked for this on 1st January 1948.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hindu state is also against another democratic and peaceful practice of referendums as it has complained to several countries where Sikh\u2019s have been holding referendums. Yet it has accepted the referendums in the recently occupied territories of Ukraine by Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Party states that a plebiscite and a referendum is the only tool of democracy which can settle disputes peacefully and democratically. But the Hindu Indian state supports referendums in occupied Ukraine by Russia but on the other hand does not agree with plebiscites conducted in Kashmir and referendums conducted by Sikh\u2019s. This is strange. Defies logic and reason.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, we have stated like Russia, Communist China has annexed 39,000 sq kilometers of Ladakh in 1962. In 2020 and 2022 Communist China has annexed 2000 sq kilometers of territory in Ladakh.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Mr. Rahul Gandhi is of the same view as our party\u2019s then we see no wrong. Does the Editor want that Communist China should keep its annexations of Ladakh and NEFA in perpetuity?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ramachandran may be a Russophile but then why is he in favour of Communist China in retaining its conquests in Ladakh and NEFA?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It does not make sense unless he is a hardcore fanatic as the BJP – RSS under Premier Narendra Modi. No sensible person would accept what Mr. Ramachandran writes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Mr. Ramachandran condemns the crime of genocide by Islamic Pakistan in Bangladesh but the crime of genocide, ethnocide, memoricide and vandalism were committed by Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi against the Sikh people with impunity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ramachandran edits his paper in the Punjab but he sees no wrong with what crimes have been perpetrated against the Sikh\u2019s living next door to him but only see\u2019s the evil of Islamic Pakistan. This shows his partiality for the doctrine of rabid Hindutva.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sikh\u2019s want trade with Islamic Pakistan as it would lead to great prosperity for the people in this region but Mr. Ramachandran approves of trade with Communist China which has occupied thousands of square kilometers of territory in Ladakh and NEFA. His country has a trade deficit of $1 billion. This is strange and defies logic.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the newspaper he edits he refuses to suffix the nationality of Sikh\u2019s by adding the word Singh after a Sikh name. This is an unnecessary provocation which the trustees of the Tribune must check. He refers to Sikh\u2019s repeatedly as radicals, extremists and terrorists.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Party does not think that Mr. Ramachandran is fair to his profession as a journalist or to the minorities whom he has regularly pilloried.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
