Comments by Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our Party wants to put it on record that the Sikh\u2019s are a sue generis sovereign power having involuntarily given up their status as such through superior power of the British in 1849 and later through chicanery, deceit and skullduggery in 1947 when as per the Anglo Sikh treaty of 1849 their sovereign status should have been restored by the British who gave away their Indian Empire to the Muslims in Pakistan and the Hindu\u2019s in India.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the Sikh Homeland of the Punjab is a riparian state through which rivers \u2013 Satluj, Beas, Ravi and Chenab flow. These rivers form the Indus Basin of which there is the treaty \u2013IWT. The Sikh\u2019s as such have sovereign and indisputable rights to these rivers. Therefore, if the IWT is to be re \u2013 negotiated the Sikhs representatives must sit at the table set by the World Bank.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, though there is fear of a water shortage due to climate change, the Sikh\u2019s fear that total flow of these river waters of the Punjab can be used as a hydrological weapon against the Sikh\u2019s and downstream riparian state entities. The Hindu Indian state has built dams over these river waters which the Union Hindu Government in Delhi controls.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the period when Afghanistan was under the control and rule of USA, THIS() had built dams on the rivers that flow through Afghanistan and join the Indus Basin finally. Our Party had also raised a signal of danger of a hydrological war unleashed by the Hindu Indian state. Therefore, we have regularly sought control over the head works of these dams by the United Nations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sikh\u2019s have felt the heavy hand of the majoritarians since 1947 and that is the reason that the two Sikh representatives to the Constituent Assembly, Sardar Hukam Singh and Sardar Bhupinder Singh Mann that drafted the 1950 Constitution did not put their signatures of acceptance to this charter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In reconsideration of the IWT, the Sikhs who have suffered crime of genocide, memoricide, ethnocide and vandalism at the hands of THIS and the new threat of a hydrological war, desire that their representatives must be on board when IWT is reviewed by the World Bank.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
