Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that this is a wise policy of the Punjab state to reject Central Z security cover for the Punjab Chief Minister.
We are happy that our party had suggested this policy of Central intervention in affairs into Punjab which would be dangerous and against the federal principle.
Haryana also wants a share in the Punjab University at Chandigarh, which cannot be accorded as this belongs to the Punjab state.
As Himachal has sent its proposal to the Centre to capture the Shannan project and Punjab cannot yield as this deal was done during the period of the Maharaja of Mandi.
Kangra and Chamba, Kashuli, Nullagarh, Hamirpur, Dharamshala and Una are all parts of the Punjabi speaking areas and these should be amalgamated with the Punjab state.
If Haryana wants a share in the Punjab University then it must pass on the districts of Karnal, Sirsa, Ambala, Kurukshetra and Panchkulla to the Punjab.
On the other hand Haryana can be reorganized by amalgamating Saharanpur division, Agra division and Bharatpur division with it as they are all ethically akin to the Haryana people without the districts named which should become parts of the Punjab as they are Punjabi speaking districts.
