Will Dhiren Bhagat, a journalist, ever get Justice? : Simranjit Singh Mann
The Tribune dated 03rd April, 2020
Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that Danieal Pearl’s killers were identified and sentenced to imprisonment and also received a death sentence.
But during the Congress regime of Rajiv Gandhi from 1984 to 1989 Gandhi was physically fighting by military means the stateless Sikhs. His Internal Security Minister P. Chidambaram imported, illegally plane loads of infantry weapons from Soviet occupied Afghanistan. These weapons were given to Hindu India’s counter insurgents to fight the Sikhs.
Dhiren Bhagat was an Oxford University educated journalist who broke this import of secret weapons story. His report was printed. Thereafter, he was mysteriously murdered and the cause of his death has not been probed by the Hindu state till this day.
Our party has raised this question times out of number, but to no avail. Justice in South Asia remains a Mirage for journalists. Will some body of brave journalists step in and have this murder probed?
In 2000, 43 innocent Sikhs living in Village Chitthi Singh Pura in Kashmir were massacred in cold blood by the Hindu states army. These ghastly murders of minority Sikhs have also not been probed till today.
On 26th March, 25 innocent Sikhs were massacred in Kabul, Afghanistan by the Islamic State. The US which is in occupation of Afghanistan may kindly probe and bring the offenders before the law.
