Why is Captain Amarinder Singh taking a hard stand on Khalistan and why has Mr.Arvind Kejriwal joined him?
Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that it is beyond our understanding why Captain Amarinder Singh and Mr. Arvind Kejriwal are taking a hard and intractable stand on the visit of the Defence Minister of Canada Sardar Harjit Singh Sajjan visit to THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State). Sardar Sajjan has been invited by the Union Government in Delhi and is a state guest.
Our party has since 1984 propagated the concept of the creation of an independent and sovereign Sikh state which would be a buffer between three inimical nuclear armed states- Communist China, Islamic Pakistan and THIS. Such a concept has emerged out of Sikh history and need, as through history the Sikh’s have been persecuted by the majority Hindu’s and Muslim’s. The Sikh’s are a separate nation but at this juncture we are stateless.
Recently the Ontario Legislative Assembly in Canada has passed a resolution that the Hindu state has committed the crime of genocide of the Sikh race and people. The Hindu Union Government in Delhi has condemned this resolution and the editor of The Tribune Mr. Harish Khare in an editorial has said that such a resolution is interference in THIS’s internal affairs. The crime of genocide is a heinous crime and the United Nations also condemns this abominable crime in no uncertain terms. Instead of being apologetic about committing this crime the Hindu state is challenging the condemnation of this atrocious crime which means that the Hindu state is not sorry, not repentant and seeks no forgiveness. This means that the Sikh’s in THIS are living a life exposed to the commission of such crimes in future and hence are fleeing abroad to seek protection in Western democratic countries.
In the Assembly elections held in February this year our party was the only party that stood for the creation of Khalistan. The other Sikh factions like Dal Khalsa, Panj Pardhani, Kirtiani Jatha, United Akali Dal, Akali Dal 1920, Sant Samaj led by Damdami Taksal Mr. Dhumma, SGPC, Sikh’s for Justice, AISSF, Shiromani Gurudwara Committee of US opposed this manifesto of our party and voted for Aam Adami Party, Congress Party and Badal and BJP combination.
As such since all these Sikh factions were against the concept of Khalistan, our party suffered a defeat. Therefore Khalistan should not have been on the agenda of Captain Amarinder Singh and his Congress Party. In fact Mr. Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Adami Party in conjunction with Captain Amarinder Singh has condemned the concept of Khalistan and opposed the visit of Sardar Harjit Singh Sajjan.
Our party has a branch in Canada and we have never heard of any Canadian political party supporting the concept of Khalistan. We have a large number of Canadian’s supporting this concept but Sardar Sajjan supporting the creation of a separate sovereign Sikh buffer state has never come to our mind.
Therefore it seems odd that Captain Amarinder Singh should blow up the visit of Sardar Sajjan in the manner he has. He has a point when he states the Khalistani’s opposed his visit to Canada. But they opposed the post of the President of the Congress Party that the Captain held. They had valid reasons for doing so because the Congress Party in tandem with BJP-RSS, CPI, CPM and the Lok Dal party under Charn Singh were responsible for Operation Bluestar of 1984 and the commission of the crime of genocide of the Sikh peoples. Therefore, it was the Congress Party that the Sikh’s condemned and not Captain Amarinder Singh.
The other reason was that during is earlier tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab 2002 to 2007 the Captain committed inhuman tortures and filed sedition charges against Sikh’s who spent long tenures in prisons. Eventually these cases ended in acquittals. Such high handedness of Captain Amarinder Singh’s visit to Canada and the US were the cause for his unwelcome to these countries.
For instance the Americans and the Canadians have rescinded my visas to their respective countries. I suppose that this is the handiwork of the Hindu state in Delhi which does not want me to visit these democratic countries. If these two countries do not want me to visit them then that is the end of the matter as far as I am concerned. I bare no animus towards these countries.
As far as Khalistan and its creation is concerned Captain Amarinder Singh has always favoured it as he took an oath along with me and other Sikh dignitaries before the holy Akal Takhat Sahib at Amritsar to have such a separate sovereign state for the Sikh’s. Doubters may see the picture of all the Sikh dignitaries taking this oath in 1994, and Captain Amarinder Singh appears as the first dignitary to take the oath. The picture is below:
Seated below in the picture above, to the left, administrating the oath to the Sikh dignitaries is the then Akal Takhat Jathedar Singh Sahib Bhai Manjit Singh. If Khalistan was acceptable in 1994 it cannot become unacceptable now.
Our party would welcome the visit of the Canadian Defence Minister irrespective of his political ideology. The Hindu state must not forget that it was Canada that gave their state the first atomic reactor at Bombay. The Hindu states scientists broke the pledge that it would be used only for peaceful purposes. But like Dr. Khan of Pakistan who stole nuclear secrets from Holland to make the Islamic bomb, Hindu scientists stole the knowhow and technology from this reactor to make their own nuclear weapons. They cheated on Canada.
The Hindu state must also remember that when their country took on China in a war in 1962 it were the Canadians who from their own stocks sent the Hindu state the much needed transport aeroplane- Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar, and winter clothing for the soldiers posted on the Himalayan heights.
Therefore our party not only extends a hearty welcome to the visiting Canadian Defence Minister and wishes him a very happy and eventful stay in the Indian sub-continent.
We do hope that Captain Amarinder Singh and Mr. Arvind Kejriwal will tone down their acrimony and as good Sikh hosts extend a hearty welcome to Sardar Harjit Singh Sajjan. That’s the tradition and the spirit of the Sikh nation.
