We must take stock of these weapons so that they are not supplied to insurgents at the behest of the Union Government, its secret agencies to meddle in the internal affairs of another country. The mysterious death of Journalist Dhiren Bhagat needs a deep probe – Simranjit Singh Mann.

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that we must keep a watch on these rifles as these could be used for insurgencies sanctioned by the Union Government.
Previously when Mr. P. Chitramban was the internal security minister in the late Premier Rajiv Gandhi’s cabinet he imported surreptitiously plane load of infantry weapons from Soviet occupied Afghanistan, which were given to the counter insurgents of the Union Government to fight the Sikh’s who were fighting for an independent and Sovereign state for the Sikh’s.
Dhiren Bhagat was an Oxford University educated Correspondent who brought out this sinister and covert import of weapons, which were never recorded in the stock registers, and for doing this public service he met with a mysterious death which is yet to be probed. We have written about Bhagat’s death many times but even the Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, International Consortium of Investigative Journalists ( I C I J) have missed investigating this mysterious death of a fellow journalist.
