The Sikh military vision differ from the Hindu insight into militarization – Simranjit Singh Mann
The Hindustan Times, dated 15-May-2020.
Army’s only cavalry unit to replace horses with tanks.
Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that in the Sikh military vision, the horse is still a valuable asset, as it can wade through deep sand, fluch, canals, streams, rivers and tracks, through which motorized machines cannot go. It is worthy of carrying light infantry and artillery weapons through such terrains. it is also good for reconnaissance and night raids.
Despite the mechanization of all weapons, the Sikh armed forces will never give up the horse, the mule, the pigeon and the dog.
Unfortunately, the Sikhs at this stage in their history do not have an independent and sovereign state of their own, but with their unflinching faith in Waheguru Sahib, we will be a sovereign people.
