The Prime Minister should stop all activity of exploiting the forest wealth in the country either by the Government or businessmen. – Simranjit Singh Mānn

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our Party is against Governments interfering in wild life sanctuaries and we request the Harayana Chief Minister and Prime Minister Nerandra Modi to end such activities in the sanctuaries as wild life is held very precious in Harayana, Punjab and Rajisthan. In this area we have a religious – caste community that worships wild life such as the Bishnois who inhabit these three states.
We would also request the Prime Minister to stop his Union Government from giving permission to businessmen in exploiting our forests and Jungles and allow coal mining in these environmental forest and game reserves.
The forests in the states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar are inhabited by the Adavasis or Tribal’s. They have risen in revolt as their forests are being exploited for minerals, timber and other anti social activities.
It must be known to the Union Government and especially Premier Nerandra Modi that the Adavasis or Tribals worship nature. Therefore, to fight these people and send the paramilitary forces against them is not only state terrorism but also a heinous crime.
In areas where the armed forces are meant to fight with weapons, in those areas the Union Government and its army orders its soldiers to fight the opponents without weapons, as a result 20 soldiers were killed on 15th and 16th June of this year.
Such a policy of the Union Government is quite topsy-turvy as where military action is required, there soldiers are ordered not to fight with weapons and where the soldiers are not to fight with their weapons against their own countrymen, there these paramilitary forces unleash a reign of terror. We hope such policies will end and a reign of peace will begin.
