Simranjit Singh Mānn’s views to the Press on the current political situation in South Asia.
Turmoil in Afghanistan and giving largesse to THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) by US should await the US Presidential results due shortly. The next Administration should be given this honour. – Simranjit Singh Mānn

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that Our Party is aware of the US – Taliban talks in Doha, whereby the present Afghan Government setup by the Western powers would bring peace to Afghanistan by amalgamating the two fighting forces.
However, since the Sikh’s have always been interested in Afghanistan as the Lahore Darbar (Sikh Empire 1799 – 1849) had subdued the Afghan’s as in 1819 the forces of the Darbar had annexed Kashmir, which earlier to this was a province of Afghanistan. Other than this the Darbar forces had nibbled a sizable portion of South Afghanistan. As a result the Durand Line that marks the borders between Afghanistan and Islamic Pakistan today, is actually a part of Afghanistan.
As the Doha talks between the Taliban and the US began, there were some so called regional powers that did not want a Government in Afghanistan that was partly the present Government and the Taliban content. Therefore, the Doha vision of Afghanistan has been upset by encouraging the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and the Al Qaeda stateless warrior factions to upset the apple cart. This design of the regional powers has succeeded to a certain extent, as such powers do not want the US troops to leave Afghanistan. If US troops actively participate in supporting the current Afghan Government, it is felt that Islamic fighting groups in Afghanistan would be kept engaged in the turmoil of Afghan politics and hence would not endanger the polity of state’s bordering Afghanistan.
This policy has worked to a certain extent as Islamic Pakistan which held a grip on Taliban factions has been isolated and the Americans who want to leave Afghanistan are confronted with a dilemma as the US begins to give military and satellite support to THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State). Unless the US keeps its relations with Islamic Pakistan and Hindu India on an even keel, we are afraid that America would not be able to leave Afghanistan with honour.
Our Party also feels strengthening the Hindu Indian state militarily by the US goes against the policy of supporting democracy and Human Rights. The US is aware of what is happening to the minorities, schedule castes and Adivasis or Tribal’s as the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom would be the best source of information for the visiting Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defence Secretary Mark T. Esper.
Under these circumstances when the Hindu Indian state cannot pull its weight in Defence and Foreign Affairs without borrowed stilts, we think at this juncture it would be futile to hold Naval exercises by Quad in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
This is the thinking of our Party as the Hindu Indian state does not get on well with its neighbouring countries – Islamic Pakistan, Communist China, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Burma and Sri Lanka. Internally the Hindu state is fighting with its Adivasis or Tribal’s in its Central states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar where its paramilitary forces are committing Human Rights excesses. In Jammu and Kashmir there is serious strife as Jammu and Kashmir’s Constitutional status under article 370 and 35 A has been abrogated. There is no democratically elected legislature, which has also been dissolved and most of its leaders have either been in jails or are presently in jails. Draconian laws like AFSPA(Armed Forces Special Powers Act) give the security forces unlimited powers to kill, murder, kidnap, abduct, maim, molest and rape, keep in illegal custody or create disappearances of any person with impunity. In the Punjab, there is civil strife because the Union BJP – RSS Government has legislated farm laws which will economically kill the rural economy, its farmers and farm labour. The Naga’s in the North – East are also in strife and they may take to an armed revolt. If the Hindu Indian state cannot take its neighbouring countries and its population on its periphery along, then as per a wise democratic policy, the visiting US Secretary of State and Secretary of Defence should await the results of the Presidential elections due shortly scheduled for 3rd November, 2020. Changing horses in mid stream could be avoided.
Facta non Verba.
