Sikh’s around the World must decide whether the Sikh’s are a Sui Generis sovereign people or we survive at the mercy of the Hindu Indian state. – Simranjit Singh Mānn

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that now the Sikh’s must understand why our party is fighting peacefully and democratically for a separate, sovereign state for the Sikh Nation. Sikhism is not confined to THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State).
We think it is extremely humiliating to the Sikh religion and nation that the Union Indian BJP – RSS Government has cut out the funding from abroad to the SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) and other Sikh shrines. Now it has allowed it, which means that we Sikh’s thrive at the willingness, mercy or the pleasure of the majoritarian Hindu Indian state.
Our Sikh Guru’s and martyrs had never willed that Sikhism should thrive under the jackboots of any religious state. This theory of subordination to any theocratic state has been rejected, opposed and fought against by the Sikh’s in times of the Mughal raj, Afghan raj, British raj and presently the Hindu raj. The concept of Miri-Piri totally and completely rejects the very idea of the state governing or ruling over Sikhism.
We think this is an important issue for the Sikh’s, a Sui Generis sovereign people to be concerned about. This news that foreign funds can only come or be banned or allowed at the will of the Hindu Indian state is shameful and it should be taken up on an International plane.
We look forward for a response from the Sikh world.
