Shriomani Akali Dal (Amritsar) thinks that Russia has diddled THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) as it has given Communist China Sukhoi Su 35 and the Hindu state Sukhoi Su 30 fighter planes. In a secular state Premier Modi cannot offer prayers in a particular religious manner. – Simranjit Singh Mānn

Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that our party does not want to brag that we know more about Russia than The Tribune. Ours is only a presumption as the Sikhs as past rulers know a little about Russia. If Russia is an all weather friend of the Hindu Indian state, then it should have kept an equilibrium between the goodies it gives to Communist China and Hindu India.
We know that these two countries are practically at battle point in Ladakh. Russia has given the latest fighter Jets Sukhoi Su 35’s to Communist China but it has not sold these new machines to THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State), though the Hindu state is buying a great deal of weapons since hostilities broke out between these two countries lately.
Yesterday we read that the Hindu state has ordered 12 more Sukhoi Su 30 Jets. It escapes our understanding why Russia did not give its all weather friend the Sukhoi Su 35? Therefore, The Tribune should give us more reliable information or find out why its country has received an older model of the Sukhoi Su 30 and not Su 35? In fact since 1947 the Hindu state has favoured buying second hand armaments as Krishna Menon as Defence Minister bought all the World War II from the Junk heap after the War. The Air Craft Carrier is also a piece of Junk which was scrapped by Russia and the US also gets rid of its old Naval vessels by selling them to the Hindu state. Since there are no competitive price tags on this junk, commissions can be had without a suspicion. Therefore, specifically we want to know why the Hindu state did not place an order for the latest Sukhoi Su 35’s and why it ordered the older version of Sukhoi Su 30 ?
When, yesterday 3rd July, 2020 Premier Modi visited Ladakh, we do not understand why General Bipin Rawat Chief of Defence Staff, took a ride with the Premier when it was the duty of the COAS General MK Naravane who is in command of the Army, was with Premier Modi yesterday. We think too many cooks spoil the broth. It was the duty of General Rawat to stay behind in Delhi and collate the information of intelligence coming in from the Naval, Air Force and intelligence agencies and feed these to the Defence Minister and the Premier.
We think the Chief’s of the Air Force, the Navy and Army should sit together and decide who the field commanders are and what is the role of the Chief of Defence Staff? The soldiers in the field get the wrong message regarding their Commander if the Chief of Defence Staff is seen to be omnipresent. We traditionally have never had a diarchy in the armed forces.
During the visit of Premier Modi to Ladakh we have seen that the Premier with two Pandits is offering prayers in a certain religious manner which is questionable as he has taken an oath that he will remain loyal to the Constitution. If the Constitution of 1950 is a secular Constitution and many rulings of the Supreme Court have ratified and certified that the constitution is secular, then why is Premier Modi performing a religious function that pertains to a particular religion?
