Press statement of Simranjit Singh Mann, President Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Quilla Sardar Harnam Singh, Fatehgarh Sahib, Dated 14-09-2019
Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) condemns the murderous attack on leading lawyer Mr Prashant Bhushan, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court. The assailants were obviously extremist BJP and RSS agents who made this beastly attack on the Senior Advocate in his Chamber in the Supreme Court. Our party wants to know if such extremist attacks are made in the premises of the Supreme Court then what would be the Security provided to the Judges, members of the bar and the litigitins?.
We think these assailants be booked under section 307 and 452 IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Bill, 2019.
Our party feels the capital city of Delhi is no longer safe for diplomats, women and law abiding citizens.
The Union Home Minister Mr Amit Shah must clarify why this RSS-BJP attack took place under his very nose, authority and command. Premier Narender Modi and the RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat must satisfy all citizens that these scalawags, vandals and rogues will not be allowed to indulge themselves in such uncivilized activities.
What has happened to Mr Prashant Bhushan happens daily in Kashmir and Ladhakh. These areas have become ungovernable and anarchy rules over this states and Delhi, all Union Territories.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court must take cognizance of this offence. The Supreme Court was found wanting in 1984 when the genocide of the Sikh people’s took place all around its premises and all over the country. Our party has written times out of number to the Supreme Court to have the UN Convention on the Prevention and punishment of the Crime of genocide 1948 reduced into the country’s law, but strangely it has turned a deaf ear to our pleadings though under article 51 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court should have brought about this law into practice. We hope the Supreme Court will now be seized of this important law and bring it about as quickly as possible.
