On Sikh issues The Hindu Indian Press, including the Indian Express will always cry wolf – Simranjit Singh Mann.
Editorial in The Indian Express dated 03rd December 2019.
Comments by Simranjit Singh Mann: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) states that The Hindu Indian Press like The Indian Express is not bothered about Premier Imran Khan or General Bajwa. As usual it has a chip on its shoulder because Premier Khan and General Bajwa have been opening up the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor to facilitate the pilgrimage of the stateless Sikh’s to the very shrine where Guru Nanak Sahib spent the latter half of his life. That being Kartarpur Sahib, which falls in Islamic Pakistan.
It is like what the famous English intellect Bacon said – that the Puritans hated bear baiting, not because it gave pain to the bear because it gave pleasure to the spectators. Premier Khan and General Qamar Javed Bajwa have become the whipping boys of Hindu India because they have done justice to the Sikh’s.
Contrarily we ask if the Hindu’s can go on a pilgrimage to their holy Mansarovar which lies in China and The Hindu press and state fear no harm, then a Sikh pilgrimage to Islamic Pakistan should not offend them.
For instance, Communist China has taken 39,000 square kms in Ladhak which was conquered by the Lahore Darbar (Sikh Empire in 1799 to 1849), in the skirmishes between the Hindu Indian Forces and those of the Communist Chinese in 1962.
We ask the Indian Express and its fellow newspaper’s does their country ever have a policy of revanchism, as parliament in the Nehru era passed and unanimous resolution that The Hindu Indian state will not rest till the last inch of its territory is recovered.
We recall that The Indian Express’s editor Arun Shorie, Time of India’s editor Giri Lal Jain and The Tribune’s editor Prem Bhatia were unanimous in coaxing the then Premier Indra Gandhi in taking military action against the stateless Sikh’s in 1984 in an armed ingress into the Holiest Sikh shrine – Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple at Amritsar) code named – Operation Bluestar. The Hindu Indian Press is once again at its usual game of Sikh baiting. The Sikh’s will confront any person or body that offends the Sikh nation.
